As a charity that believes in empowerment, we believe in helping those living in poverty to find meaningful employment.
The adult empowerment programme runs the following projects:
- CV Creation-
Helping unemployed persons living in poverty to update their CV's and sometimes even set up their first CV to help them market themselves in the job market.
-Interview Skills Workshops-
Running workshops to help unemployed persons living in poverty with the knowledge necessary to use their CV's and put their best foot forward at job interviews- to help them get the job.
-Free Clothing Store-
When an unemployed person living in poverty has gotten an invitation to a job interview and do not have the necessary corporate clothing to put their best foot forward-we provide them with a suitable outfit from our donated items. If they should get the job they are also welcome to come and get a few more items to help them look the part in their first month.
When an unemployed person living in poverty has gotten an invitation to a job interview and possibly come in for the corporate clothing, we will also go through some last minute interview tips and have a mock interview with them to get them mentally and physically prepared for the job interview.
We encourage corporate volunteers to help mentor promising candidates living in poverty in their respective fields. This may be as entry level as teaching someone email etiquette or as complex and allowing someone to shadow you in your management position to learn valuable management skills.
